Officiant

We recently booked our officiant. I thought I would share some of the questions that we asked-just in case anyone else is in the same boat as Damon and I. We are having an outdoor ceremony, and Damon and I both share different religious views, so we decided to have a non denominational wedding. We wanted to find someone that would be flexible enough to do whatever we wanted, and would still make the wedding meaningful and special. So here are some suggestions on questions to ask...

Is the officiant available on your wedding date?
Do they have sample wording/ceremonies/readings to show you?
Can religious touches be incorporated?
How long will the actual ceremony be?
Is the officiant involved with the rehearsal, will they lead the rehearsal?
Cost?
What time will they arrive before the wedding?
Can they travel to your wedding site?
How long has the officiant been performing weddings?
Does the officiant make you feel comfortable?
Does the officiant need a microphone?
What will they wear?
Ask details about the marriage license (when will it be filled out, when will it be sent in, and by whom).
Make sure your officiant is licensed and registered to perform a wedding in your state by contact the city clerk (you want to make sure he can make it legal).

Hope this helps.
